Detection Operation
If your SecureCode Opener is working improperly and the lights on
the power unit blink, please review this page for trouble-shooting
information.
[Note: If your opener and the remote transmitters have Code Switches,
please email us or call our , Tech Help Team. SmartFlash only operates
with SecureCode openers.]
SmartFlash Trouble-Shooting Steps:
1. Please study the blink rates of the four lamps shown
below. Each lamp blinks at a different rate.
2. Study the lamp blink on your opener and determine which
blink rate your opener is indicating.
3. Then follow the trouble-shooting steps to determine the
repair needed to your opener.

Force Obstruction Detection or Sensor Board
Failure
Lamp blinks ON for 1 second and OFF
for 1 second
1. Increase Force Adjustment Setting slightly for
that door direction.
Problem still exists? Repeat #1 or go on to #2.
2. Close door and pull emergency disconnect. Can
door be opened and closed easily by hand? If yes, go back to #1. If
no, call a qualified garage door dealer for door repair.

Beam System Detection
Lamp blinks ON for 4 seconds and OFF
for less than 1/2 second
1. Check that the RED LIGHT on the beam receiving unit is
ON . If not on, align beam system.
2. If red light is ON, close and watch red light on beam
receiver. Does it turn OFF or BLINK when the door is closing? If YES,
realign beam system better. If red light remains on while the door is
closing, call a qualified Stanley garage door opener dealer.

Limit System Error Detected
Lamp blinks ON and OFF very quickly
Screw Drive Openers:
1. Is the Limit Connector plugged into the back of the
power head? Are the Limit Wires cut or damaged? Are the Limits on the
Screw Rail damaged? Are the Limit Wires shorted? If any damage is
found call Stanley Customer Support.
Chain Drive Openers:
1. Call Stanley Customer Support.

Maximum Run Time Exceeded
Lamp blinks ON for less than 1/2
second and OFF for 4 seconds
1. Does the door move? If no:
a) Chain Drive Openers:
Did the chain break or is it disconnected?
b) Screw Drive Openers: Is
the Traveler ENGAGED with the screw?
If the door moves properly from limit to limit and you still
experience this lamp blink, call our Tech Help Team.
